This requisition is for a Technical Accountant position within Lockheed Martin’s Rotary & Mission Systems (RMS) business area. The position will be part of the broader RMS financial reporting, technical accounting, and tax team and is expected to successfully assist with multiple, simultaneous assignments, deadlines, priorities, and tasks. Responsibilities consistently require an attention to detail, technical analysis, communication, and a level of independent organization and prioritization of responsibilities is expected. The position responsibilities include:
• Collaborate with the program finance and business area controllers and their staff to research and provide guidance to properly account for complex transactions.
• Assist in reviewing customer contracts to ensure the appropriate revenue recognition in accordance with Lockheed Martin policy statements and ASC 606.
• Assist reviewing the quarterly balance sheet reserves, including coordination and review of supporting documentation to ensure ending reserve balances are adequately supported in accordance with GAAP.
• Assist with the preparation of quarterly financial results and footnote disclosure templates, ensuring they are completed accurately and timely.
• Draft technical accounting memos for complex transactions (e.g., revenue recognition conclusions, restructuring activities, asset dispositions).
• Review proposed accounting standards to identify potential impacts on the business and assist with the implementation of newly issued accounting standards.
• Drive accounting and financial reporting enhancements to existing accounting-related processes to generate efficiencies and improve analysis.
• Actively interface with members of the Ernst & Young audit team.
• Assist with digital transformation initiatives to improve current financial reporting processes.
• Ensure appropriate internal controls are adhered to across the accounting functions.
• Assist with accounting-related special projects and other financial reporting duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
• Experience researching, interpreting, and applying US GAAP principles
• Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills
• Experience researching and resolving complex accounting issues
• Ability to take initiative, work independently, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Desired Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years of industry experience, 2 years of public company audit experience, or a combination thereof
• Aerospace and Defense/Government contracting experience
• Experience working at a large publicly traded company and/or public company audit experience
• Active CPA license or CPA eligible
• Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office and Hyperion software
• Audit support experience
• A passion for personal accountability, achievement, learning and continual improvement
• An ability to build consensus and relationships at all levels

Ability to Work Remotely: Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $99,800 - $187,900. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $86,700 - $166,300 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
