Crave a challenge that is also rewarding? This position is for a NASC Operations shift lead at the National ALIS Support Center, Tier 2 Service Desk. You will be responsible helping maintain fielded, operational ALIS/ODIN Nodes across the F-35 enterprise to include the security and integrity of our systems that keep our jets flying. It takes more than steel, advanced electronics and engine thrust to make the F-35 Lightning II, the worlds fifth generation fighter, take flight. It is the Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) that gives F-35 Lightning II operators the ability to plan, to maintain, to plan and sustain its systems over the life of the air vehicle. ALIS provides the IT backbone and capabilities to support current and future Warfighters across the U.S. and allied military services.


ALIS Database Administrator Subject Matter Expert supporting the National ALIS Support Center located at Eglin AFB, Florida. Selected candidate will provide ALIS Subject Matter Expert-level guidance to ALIS Administrators throughout the F-35 Enterprise – both CONUS and OCONUS.

NASC-assigned personnel will:
- Be considered an authority in their respective ALIS specialty (System, DBA, OMS, Network, Security Administration)
- Update and maintain the NASC CONOPS document as administrative tasks, methods, and technologies change
- Author and maintain/review for accuracy documentation used by field administrators to perform daily tasks in support of flight and maintenance operations at their respective locations
- Support Field Administrators by providing timely, expert guidance or triage of common or emergent ALIS issues via telephone, email, or instant message
- Perform centralized administrative tasks on remote ALIS nodes through a VPN connection
- Support node configuration management efforts across the enterprise through the aggregation of common issues encountered throughout the enterprise by monitoring and responding to ServiceFLo tickets and assigned Action Requests within the CRM application and proactively using automated tools to uncover data or performance problems and elevating issues when necessary
Basic Qualifications:
- Extensive experience as a database administrator within the ALIS program - either as a field database administrator or database engineer.
- Considered an authority on ALIS database structure, common issues and their resolutions.
Demonstrated database administration skills, to include:
a) Experience with importing large data volumes and managing large Oracle and SQL Server databases, be able to execute and troubleshoot database SQL scripts and report/correct finding and issues to the development team.
b) Database backups for Disaster Recovery preparation and maintenance on the Oracle databases. Scripts to perform Level 0 and delta (Level 0/1) backups, full logical export of all database data that collects snapshots of parameter files and checks database for logical and physical corruption
c) Database restoration for disaster recovery from most current backups
d) Status check scripts to troubleshoot database issues by pulling status of every database on the server, status of the database listener, and provide database system file tampering notification
e) Manually install Oracle Critical Patch Updates
f) Reviewing V$ tables and DBA views for any issues that may arise
g) Locate user session data via the command line
h) Performance tuning utilizing SQL commands (without using Oracle Enterprise Manager)
i) Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN) experience for backup and recovery to include hot and cold backups.

Additionally:
1) Strong systems & software engineering and/or database administration process background
2) Prior Database Administration and/or Database
3) Self starter & be able to Multi-task
4) Familiar with COTS/developed Software (Oracle, SQL and/or Siebel)
5) Must hold an active DoD Secret clearance and be able to obtain and hold Special Access Program (SAP) clearances
6) Must be willing to work off hours, to include 0300-1200, 0700-1600 or 1000-1900, and/or 1500-2400 depending on operational needs.
7) Must be willing to travel for short durations to provide on-site support for Sustainment-type activities.
Desired Skills:
1) Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to create presentation material for management
2) Certified in Security+
Development experience with extensive knowledge of existing LM products and processes, to include Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) hardware and software
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
