Job Description SummaryThe On Wing Support Planner (London) will work across a wide variety of customers, GE Aerospace facilities and partners to plan all aspects of engine maintenance from job request through final billing. Applicants will be familiar with quick-turn aircraft engine maintenance, repair and field services, operations of a FAR-145 Repair Station.

Includes activities such as processing transactions, managing processes, material management, site operations, or warehouse logistics & shipping, sometimes in a shop structure. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

Job DescriptionEssential Responsibilities

  • The OWS London Planner will lead job quotation, resource and tooling allocation, team launch, and
    job execution through to final invoicing.
  • GE On Wing Support is a 24 / 7 / 365 operation and you must be willing and able to support calls during off-hours when emergency situations arise.
  • Customer Facing representative for GE Aviation On Wing Support to liase and support the customer on existing contracts and any future help and support required. May also engage in sales activities for assigned customers.
  • Working Directly with On Wing Support Engineers to ensure our on site or in the field requirements are met to ensure engines and customers turn times.

In addition, the On Wing Support London Planner will:

  • Coordinate resources and tooling in order to effectively complete engine repairs in the shop or offsite locations throughout the world
  • Communicate across multiple departments to effectively coordinate operations between manufacturing, project and product support teams
  • Work with Operational Leadership & Material Logistics coordinators to ensure deliveries meet customers™ expectations
  • Communicate with internal team and customers to ensure seamless service and work scope execution
  • Review the SAP report and coordinate with Customer Service to ensure customers expectations are met
  • Support commercial team in quoting and managing of work scopes, parts logistics
  • Be accountable to Site Leader for all deliverables
  • Coordinate and provide support for the team in all Technical, Logistical, Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) and Quality requirements
  • Ensure daily planning sessions are held and objectives met by the team
  • All-hands on deck Support for AOGs (Aircraft On Ground) as they arise
     
Qualifications / Requirements:
  • Strong Oral and Written communication skills
  • Experience with Engine maintenance, trouble shooting, and assembly procedures.
  • Engineering and/or technical background
  • Ability and willingness to support calls during off-hours when emergency situations arise
  • Ability to work within a small team that has the customers requirements as priority
  • Planners rotate a weekend "on call" requirement between the team (1 in 3 weeks) for AOG support.

  • Degree Level Educated
  • Demonstrated quality, compliance and customer satisfaction skills
  • Approach work with a positive attitude and a sense of commitment to both team and customer objectives
  • Strong communication skills and problem-solving ability are a must
  • Possess a desire to learn and grow with advances in technology
  • Experience in repair of large commercial engines
