Job Description:

The Safety Analyst is responsible for ensuring compliance with all Tyonek policies and government regulations. This position is responsible for ensuring safety compliance by conducting audits, enforcing safety standards, and educating employees in accordance with Tyonek Policies and procedures, local, state, and federal safety regulations.

Duties

  • Perform all safety duties assigned by the TSG Aviation Safety Manager.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies including but not limited to ISO, OSHA, NFPA, and associated service guidance.
  • Assist in the review of policies and procedure to ensure adequacy and compliance with technical documents, as well as with local, state, and federal regulation
  • Assist local management with the coordination all activities associated with the environmental, health and safety requirements including ergonomics.
  • Assist in the development of routine regulatory reports required by the various environmental permits, conduct required activities to maintain the permits and file reapplications necessary to meet business needs.
  • Developing and reviewing risk assessments to gather information on safety issues.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of applicable safety procedures, methods and regulations directly related to the work being done at your site.
  • Completing documents in a legible, detailed and comprehensive manner.
  • Assist the TSG Aviation Safety Manager in monitoring various safety programs and processes for compliance.
  • Conduct safety inspections and audits
  • Able to effectively communicate with supervisors, managers and other leaders in the company about health and safety standards
  • Complies with all regulatory/statutory, customer and contractual safety requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have at least three (3) years Environmental, Safety and, Health program experience
  • Must have at least two (2) years aviation safety experience
  • Proficient using MS Office
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to pass a background check, which could include a criminal history and credit check for access to Government facilities.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing

Preferred:

  • BA/BS in Occupational Safety and Health or related field
  • Graduate of the Ground Safety Officer's Course, CP-12 or equivalent
  • OSHA 30-Hour Card
  • Be familiar with and able to interpret the following:
    • ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and AS 9110
    • NAS 3306, Facilty Requirements for Aircraft Operations
    • NFPA Standards, to include but not limited to the following
      • NFPA 101, Life Safety Code
      • NFPA 409, Standard on Aircraft Hangars
    • OSHA regulations

  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
