Responsibilities

This role supports the Employee Relations Team by conducting thorough, prompt and objective investigations into allegations of misconduct and other HR related investigations and/or policy violations and ensures that allegations are investigated and addressed in compliance with established policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle sensitive situations with tact and professionalism. Will serve as a consultant to business partners as it relates to employee relations issues and policies & procedures.

 

  • Investigates all Human Resources assigned or directly reported complaints and reports/consults with ER Manager on investigation findings.
  • Responsible for intake, researching the allegation, developing an investigation plan, conducting effective interviews and data collection, completing a written report, and communicating an appropriate summary to relevant parties.
  • Works closely with leaders within the Human Resources, Legal and other departments across the organization.
  • Maintains appropriate documentation and ensures all investigation activities are recorded within the appropriate case management databases.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation to management and Human Resources Business Partners regarding employment and labor laws.
  • Recommends resolution strategies for complaints and/or grievances filed.
  • Partners with HR Business Partners, Legal and other departments when conducting investigations to provide counsel and facilitate prompt and effective resolution of workplace concerns.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality throughout conversations and investigations; exercises sound judgment in handling or working with confidential data and situations.
  • Participates in Employee Relations projects and initiatives as assigned/needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in HR, Business Administration or other related fields and/or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 or more years Employee Relations, Human Resources, Labor Relations, investigation or equivalent preferred.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to express and logically articulate point of view.
  • Must be a highly organized individual, able to work independently and capable of working in a fast paced/deadline driven environment.
  • Experience with different interviewing and investigative techniques.
  • Experience working with Collective Bargaining Agreements and unionized work force preferred, but not required.
  • Strong problem solving and conflict- resolution skills.
  • Effective analytical, influencing, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to analyze facts and prepare clear, concise, and accurate reports.
  • Proficiency in Adobe, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.
  • Ability to effectively document all interview notes and case documentation within a timely fashion.
  • Build relationships, think critically, and communicate clearly.
  • Problem-solving skills with a solutions-oriented mindset
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, adaptability, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Domestic & International travel under 10 of the time.
  • Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally or a negligible amount frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods.
