Description:Makes the final operational checkout for conformance to Company and customer specifications, of entire prototype or new electronic and software systems after initial installation in aircraft, where it is required to exercise a complete knowledge of applicable electronic theory, plus a knowledge of aircraft functional systems; makes adjustments, calibrates, trouble shoots, reworks or replaces defective units, and makes successive operational checkouts of such electronic and software systems (accompanying ship on production or acceptance and test flights when so assigned) as required, prior, during and subsequent to flight; verifies the proper functioning of ship’s entire systems and signs off these systems for initial and subsequent flights to point of acceptance by the customer.

Determines methods, operations and sequences, conducts the initial testing, and makes adjustments and calibrations under operations laboratory conditions, of entire prototype or new aircraft electronic and software systems and components, where test procedures and standards have not been completely established, available references are not complete, and special test equipment must be developed; troubleshoots malfunctioning systems, diagnoses trouble, reworks, replaces or relocates integral components, as required to accomplish proper integration, functioning and acceptance of entire system, working to Company, customer or vendor specifications.

Modifies or develops aircraft electronic and software systems and components to Company or customer requirements, working from incomplete preliminary design data, oral or written instructions, etc.; provides missing design details and/or makes changes in design of systems components, such as circuits, for approval by others, when system does not meet functional demands or where such changes will facilitate assembly, installation, or performance of the system.

Collaborates with vendor and customer representatives and responsible Company personnel in the correction of problems regarding the design or malfunctioning of aircraft prototype or new electronic and software systems and components.

PERFORMS SUCH RELATED DUTIES AS:

Adapts available test equipment as required to complete a test setup.

Disassembles, diagnoses trouble, and repairs malfunctioning units of radar, radio and other electronic systems as revealed by laboratory or ship tests; initiates or prepares rework orders as required.

Works with Flight Mechanics in troubleshooting malfunctioning systems and servicing aircraft for flight where it is required to perform activities in related systems and accessories such as pneumatic, hydraulic, etc.

Performs satisfactorily any function of the Flight Electrical and Instruments Mechanic classification.
Basic Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of four years’ experience in aircraft electrical and electronic installation and electrical checkout or as a Flight Electrical and Instrument Mechanic.

Must possess FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License or obtain within one year of employment at the employee’s expense.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

The base range for this position in California is $28.48 - $48.29.
