Job Description:
 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Ravn Alaska Airport Operations Agent is responsible for coordinating communication throughout the airport on behalf of the organization, one of the most critical and safety-focused positions in our operation. They communicate to all necessary personnel any irregular operations, including weather hold information, aircraft equipment changes, delays and/or cancellations, as well as flight arrivals. The Airport Operations Agent will also supply flight crews accurate weight and balance paperwork. Other responsibilities aligned with Ravn Alaska Core Values include but are not limited to:

  • Upholding safety by following all requirements pertaining to the safe operations near or around aircraft, upholding policies and procedures established in the Company Airport Operations Manual (AOM) and delaying or stopping all airport operations that do not meet these requirements.
  • Establishing reliability and trust by accurately completing the load close out forms and other necessary records, ensuring documents are filed correctly and on time. The Airport Operations Agent understands how critical it is to the operation that the information they manage is recorded thoroughly and precisely.
  • Demonstrating commitment by maintaining knowledge of and familiarity with local airport, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies, to ensure operations are compliant and safe.
  • Effectively and efficiently communicating irregular operations to all necessary personnel via ground to air radio, telephone, and written operation logs, supporting safe operations and minimizing disruptions. The Airport Operations Agent plays a key part in the reliability of our passenger service.
  • Ensuring integrity of operations by each day, in all actions and words, emphasizing, demonstrating, and encouraging superior customer service and ensuring that all decisions made are in not only the best interests of safety and the company, but also in consideration of potential customer impact.
  • Embodying the spirit of connectedness by engaging in purposeful and courteous interactions which may sometimes be during moments where time is of the essence and team members may be feeling stressed about meeting deadlines. We are all focused on the success of the operation and should lend support however we can to help our team members achieve their targets.
  • Promoting our commitment to safe operations by actively taking part in Safety Management System (SMS) activities, including SMS training, promotional activities, and initiatives.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate has prior logistics experience in a fast-paced environment, works well under pressure, and can prioritize their assigned tasks. Other qualifications include:

  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must have at least one years’ experience coordinating logistics, preferably in the airline industry.
  • Must be proficient with computer systems and MS Office, with a preference for experience with Sabre and software for the airline industry.
  • Must have the flexibility to work a varied duty schedule, which includes early and late shifts.
  • Must maintain a strong work ethic, demonstrate excellent leadership, and be neat in appearance.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and adapt to fluctuating workloads and shifting priorities associated in a fast-paced environment, consistently producing quality results.
  • Must be familiar with or able to quickly familiarize self with Airport Operations Manual (AOM) and applicable contents related to this position.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision in a public setting, while keeping focus around multiple employees and distractions.
  • Must have effective oral and written communication skills and be comfortable utilizing a radio to communicate in a professional environment.
  • Must have a strong safety awareness and the ability to adhere to Safety Management Systems (SMS).
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug test.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
  • Must be comfortable working in an airport environment around odors and sounds typically associated with operating aircraft.
