Title: Flight Dispatcher (Full time)
Department: Operations Control Center
Description: The Flight Dispatcher is responsible for producing all flight plans and other operational information for flight crew on a shift basis.
Reports to: OCC Supervisor / OCC Manager
Qualifications
- Must hold a minimum of a dispatcher certificate. Being a licensed dispatcher is an asset.
- Must be authorised to exercise operational control over all company flights as a holder of an FAA or ICAO equivalent dispatcher certificate or be a holder of a Warrant Dispatcher status or be able to attain a Warrant Dispatcher status.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in crew scheduling, crew planning and crew control. Needs to show strong analytical skills, including “think outside the square”.
- Must be 21 years of age or more for compliance purposes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- a) Must make herself/himself knowledgeable on interCaribbean General Operations Manual, the OCC Manual and applicable Overseas Territories Aviation Requirements (OTARs).
- b) Must become knowledgeable of interCaribbean policies, appropriate OTARs, and the performance of capabilities and limitations as outlined in the Flight Crew Operating Manual for each aircraft being dispatched.
- c) Ensure safe and efficient operation of the flight schedule, ensuring all flights depart, arrive and progress as scheduled in accordance with ICA Air Operator Certificate, applicable OTARs, IOSA (DSP) standards and other applicable Foreign Rules of the Air.
- d) Ensure appropriate oversight of all flights under your supervision so that they are operated safely by monitoring ATS, airports, NOTAMs, flight & duty guidelines and weather conditions. Put in place mitigators to ensure minimal disruptions to the network on shift.
- e) Liaise with airport teams and reservations control to ensure OTP is maintained to a high degree.
- f) Provide flight planning and support to third party operators, as required.
- g) Be able to lift up to 10 lbs if required.
