The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Associate Environmental Engineer/Scientist to join the team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a world class Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team located in Everett, WA.
As an environmental engineer/scientist, the selected candidate will work with the EHS Environmental team across multiple environmental subject areas, primarily stormwater and emergency response. The selected individual will also support conservation/sustainability initiatives in addition to regulatory compliance.
Position Responsibilities:
Stormwater
Completes Industrial Stormwater Inspections (monthly)
Supports Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead Inspections (weekly by rotation)
Supports Industrial Stormwater and Construction Stormwater Sampling (weekly and quarterly)
Supports Conditional No Exposure permits
Develops Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Industrial Stormwater General Permit (ISGP) and Construction Stormwater General Permit (CSGP)
Emergency Response
Works as on-site initial field response to spills and environmental issues
Serves as a primary after-hours respondent for environmental emergencies
Records focal for Environment Team (records requests, support regulatory agency questionnaires, legal freeze management, etc.)
Supports site for Environmental outreach (e.g. Earth Day)
Acts as primary contact for environmental requests from business partners
Acts as Enablon information support (data management, equipment inventories, project tracking, KPI reporting)
Assists with Industrial Waste Water (IWW) sampling and program support, including Discharge Monitoring Report (DMR) prep
Coordinates with stakeholders on the completion of regulatory equipment Preventative Maintenance (PMs)
Serves as Environmental On-site Activity Representative
This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. The required location will be the Boeing site in Everett, WA.
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher
1+ years of experience with environmental compliance, environmental program management
1+ years of experience in areas of air quality, stormwater, hazardous waste, industrial wastewater, spill prevention, storage tanks, environmental sampling, data analysis, and/or environmental reporting
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, environmental science, chemistry, geology, or environmental management
1+ years of experience interacting with internal and external stakeholders
Experience with environmental compliance and regulations
Environmental Permitting Experience
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $78,200 - $105,800
