Configuration Engineer 3/TSI - Completions in GAC Dallas
Unique Skills:
Position deals primarily in the breaking down customer specifications and how they relate to design data for input into a master drawing database (using an internal GAC system). Configuration Manager will produce aircraft build lists based on these requirements. Person applying needs to be very strong in understanding how engineering data is applied to baseline aircraft, and optional configurations, to include controlled vendor data, and test criteria. Data being applied will be from both existing and new data. Individual will work with the Certification resources to make sure the process in which the data is configured can be approved by the delegated ODA (Organization Delegation Authorization) team. Certification background is preferred. Data configuration required is also contained in Supplemental Type Certificate lists such as Data Lists and Index listings. Position is responsible for the creation and coordination of deviation documents which required signature from all Airworthiness Representative as it applies to STC (both major and minor changes) in support of Return to Service of aircraft.
- Must have excellent skills in data management.
- Proficient in Microsoft office products.
- Proficient in PLM/SmarTeam system.
- Work without appreciable direction.
- Exercises latitude in determining objectives of assignments and makes decisions and recommendations to management to determine appropriate direction.
- Excellent communication skills, the position requires interaction with designers, operations personnel, vendors and leadership.
- Detailed oriented, must be able to maintain detailed records.
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 5 ys in specific technical discipline or 10 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters, 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.

- Provides specialized technical assistance to team members .
- Uses advanced techniques and modified extension of theories to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems .
- Determines and develops own approach to solutions within schedule and cost objectives .
- Works under limited supervision; work should only be required. to be reviewed for accuracy and consistency with meeting overall objectives .
- Acts as liaison with representatives outside of the assigned group/area .
Additional Functions:
- Actively works to improve daily processes and ensures all work meets customer requirements .
- Maintains a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product .
Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements:
- Advanced degree in engineering related field preferred.
- The level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.
