Job Description:

The Galley/Stowage Design Engineer is responsible for developing solutions to a variety of complex engineering problems, requiring judgment and ingenuity with the Airbus A350 product line. General responsibilities include A350 Galley/Stowage module customization, new development support, qualification and certification, continued airworthiness, cabin installation definition, supplier management, etc.

Your working environment:

The Engineering Center in Mobile, Alabama houses hundreds of Airbus engineers who assist in the design and development of Airbus commercial aircraft cabins, including aftermarket upgrades, reconfigurations and services of all product types across the globe.

Your challenges:

  • Provide technical and project oversight of Galley/Stowage Module suppliers to ensure delivery of integrated engineering solutions. 

  • Meeting technical, weight, program, schedule and cost requirements. 

  • Analyze Customer Change Requests and revise designs based on customer, manufacturer and design requirements. 

  • Define preliminary module design for technical coordination with other functions (stress, flam, weights, etc) and determine technical repercussions after receiving means of compliance proposal documentation. 

Your boarding pass:

  • Minimum BS degree in engineering or related field: 

  • Early career - intern experience is a plus but not required.  

  • Technical understanding of aircraft cabin and avionics systems modifications. 

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills. 

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. 

  • Ability to understand and mentor principles within assigned discipline. 

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical aircraft topics. 

  • Excellent communication, coordination, and organization skills. 

  • Ability to inter-relate with and motivate diverse teams.

  • Authorized to work in the US.

  • Ability to lift 50&43;lbs. 

Travel Required:

  • 15 Domestic and International

This position is a temporary (contract) position with no specific time period but could be extended or shortened as needed. Contractors are employed by a 3rd party vendor and placed on assignment to Airbus in Am
