Electrical Engineer, Sensors (Avionics)

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER, SENSORS (AVIONICS)
Our sensors development team works to design, test, and manufacture high performance electronic sensors for the worlds most advanced launch vehicles and spacecraft. The team is responsible for end-to-end development of application specific sensor products to support critical rocket and spacecraft operations, systems, and control loops including propulsion, guidance, navigation, control, and environmental systems. We are seeking a technical individual contributor with sensor knowledge as well as electrical design experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for sensor electrical design and prototyping for sensors such as thermal sensors, accelerometers, force and pressure sensors, etc.
• Responsible for sensor hardware electrical design and characterization
• Responsible for developing prototype sensor firmware for sensor technology evaluation
• Act as the responsible engineer for integrated electronics of flight sensors from conception through design, build, qualification and flight operations

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience working with sensors
• Electrical circuit design and testing experience
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• 2+ years of experience working with sensors and designing electronics for sensors
• 2+ years of experience with calibrating and testing thermal sensors
• Experience with test, test automation, and data analysis
• Working knowledge of Matlab, Python or similar scripting languages
• Passion for sensors and measurement and demonstrated experience designing sensors for high reliability applications
• Experience bringing electronics from concept through design and into high volume manufacturing
• Experience making design trades and closely interfacing with customers to ensure the correct sensor for a given application is designed

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be willing to support extended hours and weekends when necessary to support launch and critical project timelines
• Must be willing to travel <20%

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range:
Electrical Engineer, Sensors/Level I: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00/per year
Electrical Engineer, Sensors/Level II: $115,000.00 - $150,000.00/per year

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
