Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineering Manager in Tukwila, WA. This role will be starting as the leader of the VC-25B Wire Design team and working in a highly dynamic team environment to design and maintain wire bundle designs for new development, and production factory support/supplier support.
Position Responsibilities:
- Manages, develops, and motivates employees performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Electrical Design Integration Engineering.
- Performs cost account management activities.
- Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
- Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
- Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
- Develops and maintains a culture of seeking to understand, courage to speak up, active listening and servant leadership to manage, develop and motivate employees.
- Reports progress and elevates issues to senior management as required.
- Partners successfully with other organizations such as Mission/Aircraft Systems, System Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT), Operations, Structures, Production Engineering, and Supply Chain.
This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- 5+ years of experience in the aerospace industry.
- Ability to travel 10 of the time.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Strong organization and communication skills.
- 3+ years of experience leading teams in a formal and /or informal leadership role.
- 5+ years of of Wire Design or Wire Installation experience in aerospace industry
- Experience with Systems Engineering and Integration of complex hardware and wiring.
- Experience collaborating and integrating various functional groups such as manufacturing, engineering and supplier management.
