Job Description:

This position is with our Malaysia division at Johor, Iskandar Puteri.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead Engineering team in providing operational support in terms of responsiveness and timely technical problem solving.
  • Oversee all engineering activities to ensure milestones, budgets and customers technical expectations are met.
  • Plan, organize, and direct the activities of the engineering staff to ensure they provide responsive and timely technical support to sales, manufacturing, and quality to achieve division objectives.
  • Review opportunities for new work and provide accurate technical costing to optimize chances of winning work.
  • Lead Engineering team in delivering timely New Product Introduction; leverage concurrent engineering as a key value proposition.
  • Lead Engineering team in improving product profitability through improved method of manufacture.
  • Lead Engineering team in product or process transfers from other divisions.
  • Keep abreast of latest or emerging technologies and spearhead innovation in the business.
  • Support product and process transfers to Barnes Aerospace Malaysia.
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Manufacturing Engineers to ensure the highest level of performance and standards of excellence.
  • Manage by way of Leadership Effectiveness (EI) to motivate, inspire, and direct in a more effective manner.
  • Align Engineering team to meet business needs of responsiveness, knowledge retention and business continuity.

Qualifications:

  • 8 years of Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace/metal machining/precision engineering industry.
  • Conversant with machining, brazing, stamping and heat treat. NDT knowledge is preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of material engineering and technology management in manufacturing business.
  • Demonstrated leadership effectiveness (EI) in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating effectively at all levels of organization (both internally and externally) and engage a multicultural workforce.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering preferred.
