Engineering Project Manager - Etihad Engineering

The Design Program Manager (DPM) is responsible for the technical management of aircraft modification and related systems Design Engineering programs, from initial project work scope definition until successful delivery of a complete Engineering package, mod certification and aircraft return to service. He ensures that modifications are completed in conjunction within the scheduled aircraft downtime within time and budget limits.

• Coordinate all stakeholders to establish a clear Project Work Scope. Drive the Design Engineering Process through all milestones, ensuring on-time completion.
• Lead the process of responding to internal and external RFPs. Coordinate with Contracts dep. to negotiate pricing and commercial terms for Design Engineering work.
• Indirectly lead the Design Engineering team through the Project Milestones and by assigning tasks and setting Objectives.
• Capture the commercial impact of any Change to the Project Work Scope during the entire Project Delivery phase. Ensure that scope changes and cost impacts agreed to by the stakeholders.
• Coordinate with Finance department to ensure timely processing of Commercial Invoices during and after project delivery.
• Manage claims received from internal or external, and raise claims towards subcontractors as appropriate. Coordinate with Warranty and Contracts departments to protect the company’s commercial interests.
• Ensure the continued support of the delivered product during in-Service by providing Technical Documentation and Support. Identify possible further project work as follow-on or addition to already delivered Products and Services.
• Ensure that any contractual or budget changes are communicated to Management, in time to react and keep the overall project on track. Provide meaningful project status reports on a regular basis

• Master’s degree in the field of Business Administration, Business Law, Sales & Marketing or Finance & Controlling. Master of Engineering in combination with Business Administration Studies would be the preferred qualification profile.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Customer facing Commercial Representative, Technical Contracts Specialist, Technical Procurement Manager or Technical Project Manager in Aviation or related industry. Ideally 2 years of previous experience as a Technical Offerings Manager.
• Strong background and skills in Design Engineering project management, technical contracts negotiation, technical sales; experience in a multi-cultural working environment.
• Project Management, sales, procurement, negotiation, financial controlling or supply chain management. Robust knowledge of Airframe and Cabin products. Knowledge of technical contracts management and aviation industry regulations. Strong interpersonal skills and social competence, team player; self-starter; strong communications skills. Business intelligence and high willingness to take responsibility; strong negotiation and presentation skills.
• Fluent in speaking and writing in English.
