DUTIES, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, REQUIREMENTS, AND INFORMATION
- The Engineering Wiring Technician III applies learned technical knowledge to perform repairs, fabrication, modification and installation of electrical wiring harnesses, cables, wires, wiring assemblies and associated parts.
- The Engineering Wiring Technician III must have the technical knowledge to demonstrate a practical application of aircraft wiring procedures with the ability to perform soldering and knowledge of tools and equipment required to perform required functions.
- Must have the knowledge to take on more complex wiring tasks, the ability to lead other technicians and to coordinate efforts to accomplish a task.
- Must have the ability to communicate with the project engineer/designer on any issues pertaining to the task.
- Will receive technical guidance, as required from a supervisor or engineer.
- Work is reviewed for specific compliance with accepted practices and work assignments.
- May participate in planning for manufacturing, kitting, or repair items by determining facilities, equipment, material and number and type of personnel required.
- Will provide technical guidance to lower level technicians. Aircraft experience highly desired.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must have aircraft wiring/install experience.
- Must have knowledge of AS80881, NA-01-1A-505, and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.
- Must be proficient in coax, power, ethernet, data bus, type cable manufacturing.
- Must be able to use solder equipment, multi-meters, crimpers, and wire fabrication tools to perform assigned task.
- Must be able to read and interpret wire diagrams, cable fab drawings and schematics. Must be familiar with all safety precautions/hazards associated with aircraft wiring/power.
- Must have five (5) years of experience in a similar role.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
WORK CONDITIONS
Conditions will vary. Most work is performed in enclosed buildings. Office setting. . Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching. Applicant should be capable of lifting 50-100 lbs. assisted by other employees.
