The successful candidate will join a diverse Engineering Development team at RMS Mitchel Field, and support Trident Navigation program and initiatives. This position will require the individual to perform the following responsibilities:

The primary responsibility for this role will be software development on the Trident FBM Submarine Navigation System.

Responsibilities include full software lifecycle development (SW design, implementation and all levels of test) and maintenance.

The candidate may also work in a Systems Engineering role developing operational concepts, system requirements and design as well as in a Systems Integration & Test role developing test procedures and testing the system.

The candidate will also work on multiple program baselines from maintaining a deployed system to new development on both tactical and simulator software. Will work in a collaborative team environment and interact with customer.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education

- 3-5 Years of Professional Software Engineering Experience

- Experience with C, C++ or Java

- Experience with Linux

- Experience with software versioning system (i.e. Git)

- Ability to obtain a security clearance
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with software development environments
- Python
- DOORS
- Software and System level testing experience
- Knowledge of object oriented programming
- User Interface development
- Real-time operating systems
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to complete work within defined schedules and budgets
- Strong problem solving skills

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off

The base range for this position in New York is $93,026.96 - $145,587.95.
