F135 Depot - Quality Engineer (Norway)

The Military Engines Sustainment Quality team is looking for a Quality Engineer who is energetic and motivated to conduct process and product audits, initiate continual improvement initiatives and ensure compliance of production engines/modules and on-time delivery to the customer. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a high level of customer focus, business judgment and teamwork.
  • Communicate with various levels of management to identify Military Engines quality risks and mitigation plans.
  • Collect and analyze process data to help suppliers minimize workflow disruptions and eliminate nonconformances/escapes.
  • Lead process and product audits.
  • Oversee complex and modular maintenance activities to ensure compliance to technical requirements.
  • Provide quality support to production Vendor/Suppliers, including resolution of hardware and process problems.
  • Review and interpret technical manual data and service repair operation sheets to verify proper and complete adherence to the defined process for the repair of subassemblies and components.
  • Verify that repair work performed is done in conformance with technical manuals, operation sheets, and engineering requirements and does not endanger the safety of engine hardware.
  • Facilitate investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions while preventing future recurrence.
  • CORE; Lead process improvement initiatives to increase organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Generate and modify applicable quality controlled documentation to ensure processes and requirements are clearly defined.
  • Customer satisfaction; Identify and assist all stakeholders with product deficiencies and resolution.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
  • AS9100 knowledge and experience preferred
  • Ability to travel as required
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 2 - 4+ years’ experience with demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of skilled workers including international workforce.
  • 2+ years experience as Quality Engineer
  • First Article Inspection (FAI) experience
  • CORE-DAISE – minimum CORE associate (or Equivalent)
  • Ability to interface with internal and external customers.
  • Adaptability
  • Confidence to stand by your principals as well as the companies.
  • Engineering/Technical Skills.
  • A&P License.
  • Jet Engine Manufacturing/Assembly/Overhaul experience.
  • Regulatory for requirements and System Procedures Skills.
  • MS Office proficiency: Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • The ability to read and comprehend work instructions, quality manuals, and other detailed instructions.

What is my role type?

  • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
