These job requirements allow the employee to work at a Lockheed Martin-designated office or job site for part of their schedule and has a predefined regular, recurring telework schedule for the remaining part of their work schedule.


This role is for the lead technical advisor on site for FBM Navigation. This will also include administrative leadership at the SSBN forward sites in Groton, CT. The ideal candidate will serve as the driver of our teams on site, including general leadership of daily operations and guiding the team through standard functions.

Other Key Responsibilities Include:
• Act as the primary representative for Lockheed Martin and the FBM Navigation program at the shipyard, and as the primary interface with the ship builder
• Manage and prioritize workload to meet competing deadlines while avoiding impacts to shipyard construction
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance to team members to support their development and growth
• Continue to grow the team to support program needs as the number of ships in various stages of construction continues to increase
• Collaborate with key stakeholders (program management, engineering, field engineering, customer, etc) to ensure consistent communication and alignment with organizational goals
• Ensure production deliverable schedule aligns with shipbuilder needs
• Manage cost and schedule for on-site Field Engineering efforts
Basic Qualifications:
• 7 year’s of experience working at a Shipyard
• SME level knowledge of FBM (Fleet Ballistic Missile) Strategic navigation.
•SME knowledge of new COLUMBIA class SSBN
(Submersible Ship Ballistic Nuclear) construction.
• SME knowledge of SWS (Strategic weapon system) system and subsystems.
• Demonstrated experience building good working relationship with subcontractors.
• Experience performing lead role with site personnel.
Desired Skills:
• Experience coordinating personnel on-site to support daily work load.
• Communications skills to enable successful delegation of tasks to assist in transition to new L-code responsibilities and providing status and progress reports to leadership.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Top Secret

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
