About the Role:

Accountable for the overall lifecycle of HVAC assets across all facilities at the airport including but not limited to the Passenger Terminal Complex. Cargo Facility, Catering Facility, Aircraft Hangar and district cooling network comprised of five central utility plants.    Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance in all facilities in coordination with a large number of stakeholders.   Develop business case, secure budget and deliver projects to upgrade, expand and optimize HVAC systems to support airport growth and business requirements.  The HVAC engineer will ensure overall performance and highest availability of HVAC assets, seeking to implement continuous improvement process into its technical and departmental responsibilities

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

 

•    Implement department asset management strategy in coordination with multiple stakeholders to ensure that all HVAC assets meet or exceed the required performance levels.

•    Manage a portfolio of capital projects including new build and expansion projects to support business expansion.

•    Support large expansion projects as well as internally managed projects by leading a team to technical officers for the design review, calculation, report, testing and commissioning, and hand over documents.

•     Ensure timely preventive and corrective maintenance of HVAC systems are carried out by managing maintenance contractors in order to sustain target level asset condition for supporting business continuity.

•     Manage asset condition survey and asset optimization for existing and new assets based on standard procedures to identify, plan and action containment plans for assets with low scores.

•     Deliver a robust audit plan through the technical team to ensure all HVAC related works are compliant with relevant local and international regulations.

•     Implement HIA environmental vision by setting energy saving targets by developing a strategy and assignment to the responsible technical officers for their respective facilities.

•     Support management with critical decision making related to HVAC systems with sound understanding of technical requirements, business needs and risks & mitigation measures to support business continuity of all stakeholder facilities.

•     Continuously improve maintenance contractors productivity and optimize resources through monitoring and direct engagement leading to cost      saving for facilities maintenance.  Perform other departmental duties related to his/her position as directed by Manager Electrical Substations.

•     Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department

Qualifications

About You

Qualifications and Experience:

  •           Bachelors Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 6 years of job-related experience
  •          Sound knowledge of latest HVAC technologies, codes and standards.
  •          Competent in leading, coaching and guiding a team of up to 5 people
  •          Experience in large and complex work environment involving management of many internal and external stakeholders
  •          Airport experience in facilities management related to HVAC systems.
  •          Sound knowledge and proven experience with large district cooling systems.
  •          Command of English language in speaking, writing and presenting for managerial level
  •          Valid GCC license is a must.
