Boeing Brazil is seeking Mid-Career Electrical Standard Engineer to join the team in São Jose dos Campos, SP, Brazil.

The Mid-Career Electrical Standard Engineer will work with the Boeing Commercial Aircraft engineering global team to support certification of large aircraft, development, production, and post-production aircraft and to demonstrate compliance with relevant regulatory and customer requirements and procedures defined in the company’s Design Organization Handbook (DOH).

A successful candidate will have expertise and experience with electrical hardware and their applications, as well as knowledge of electrical and electronic materials and processes.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Applies engineering knowledge of electrical, electronic and electro-mechanical components in evaluation and selection for assembly and subassembly design.

  • Creates and revises standard part drawings and process specifications.

  • Performs subcontractor and supplier part qualifications.

  • Conducts failure analysis and root cause corrective action to resolve quality non-conformances.

  • Recommends new and alternate electrical components for new product development and legacy programs.

This position is hybrid/telecommuting. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Must have existing rights to work in Brazil.

  • Proficient in both written and verbal English.

  • B.S. degree in Electrical Electronics, Mechanical, or related technical discipline.

  • Must be registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia - CREA).

  • Experience working across different engineering disciplines, airline customers and suppliers.

  • Experience with Electrical Parts, Materials and Processes control plans.

  • Experience with MIL-specs and industry standards.

  • Experience proposing test planning and evaluating results.

  • Participate on aircraft development programs and Electrical components application on aircraft.

  • Analysis and review of supplier documentation/technical drawings.

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

  • Participate on FAA Compliance Verification to the Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS)

  • Knowledge on FAA regulatory and airworthiness requirements including FAR-25 requirements (relevant to the Electrical Hardware Qualification)

  • Ability to work on multiple programs with varying level of requirements efficiently and effectively.

  • Experience with Verification and Validation of Electrical Hardware Qualification.

  • Ability to help develop, mentor and coach less experienced staff.

  • Experience with parts obsolescence monitoring and resolution.

  • Experience with supporting manufacturing operations.

  • Experience with environmental protection for EWIS, including HIRF and Lightning, SWAMP, etc.

  • Knowledge of electrical bonding and grounding.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Brazil. Candidates must have current legal authorization to live and work in Brazil. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
