BR&T is seeking a high-performing, collaborative Nondestructive Evaluation Engineer to join our Composite Materials and Nondestructive Evaluation Team in Mesa, Arizona. We are looking for a broad range of experience including Associate, Mid-Level, or Senior NDE Engineers.
The Mesa Nondestructive Evaluation team is an Engineering team responsible for supporting design, development, production programs and field service. This team works on Boeing defense and commercial products including AH-64 Apache, AH-6 Little Bird, F-18 P-8, AV-8B, 777 as well as development programs.

Position Responsibilities:
Levels 2 and 3
Assists with or defines requirements for tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes used in the engineering design, manufacture and/or maintenance of products
Drafts or produces engineering specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes
Assists in evaluation of emerging technologies for potential application to business needs
Assists with development and qualification of new tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes to meet requirements
Conducts analysis to determine performance or reasons for failures of tools, materials, parts or processes.
Compiles reports to document activities such as evaluations, results, interpretations and new procedures
Uses project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements
Works with the direction/mentorship of Principal/Senior Nondestructive Evaluation engineers to develop, certify, qualify, and implement Nondestructive Evaluation technologies across the enterprise
Maintains compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations
Promotes standardization across business activities
Implements corrective and preventive actions
Incorporates environmental health and safety, LEAN and Quality principles into (1) materials and processes, (2) research, design and qualification, (3) work procedures and (4) labs and office areas
Works independently with the direction/mentorship of Principal/Senior Nondestructive Evaluation engineers to develop, certify, qualify, and implement Nondestructive Evaluation technologies across the enterprise
Level 4
Defines requirements and approves tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes used in the engineering design, manufacture and/or maintenance of products and approves their use
Leads production of specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes
Maintains compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations
Promotes standardization across business activities
Leads evaluation emerging technologies for potential application to business needs
Leads development and qualification of new tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes to meet requirements
Integrates new technologies as appropriate
Leads test and audit programs to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements
Conducts complex analysis to characterize performance or determine reasons for failure of tools, materials, parts or processes
Reviews reports documenting activities such as evaluations, results, interpretations and new procedures
Implements corrective and preventive actions
Serves as the Lab Lead for the NDE Engineering lab, responsible for functions involving Safety, Metrology, Capital, etc.
Leads design, development and qualification of computer and production systems to satisfy user requirements. Uses project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements
Incorporates environmental health and safety, LEAN and Quality principles into (1) materials and processes, (2) research, design and qualification, (3) work procedures and (4) labs and office areas
Mentors early career engineers in the development, certification, qualification, and implementation of Nondestructive Evaluation technology across the enterprise
Leads others and work statement, assists in defining strategies and/or provides consultation
This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
1+ years of experience working in Nondestructive Evaluation
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to convey technical and conceptual material to individuals at all levels within and outside of organization
Functional knowledge of instruments, systems, and software used for ultrasonic inspection of composites using manual or automated pulse echo, through transmission, pitch-catch, and phased array techniques
Functional knowledge of instruments, systems, and software used for magnetic particle, penetrant and eddy current inspection
Functional knowledge of instruments, systems, and software used for radiographical inspection
Knowledge of reference standard development and fabrication
Experience with robotics, 3D modeling, 3D printing, Computed Tomography (CT), and/or Ultrasonic Phased Array
Experience working in an engineering or scientific lab
Experienced reading drawings and using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.)
Typical Education/Experience:
Associate (Level 2)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Mid-Level (Level 3)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Senior-Level (Level 4)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years related work experience, Master+7 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary Pay Plan Associate Level: $77,350-$104,650
Summary Pay Plan Mid-Level: $95,200-$128,800
Summary Pay Plan Senior Level: $116,450-$157,550
