The city of Ocala is also the home to over 400 thoroughbred horse farms, training centers and the World Equestrian Center.

Ocala and Marion County are known as the Horse Capital of the World. The horse farms are situated in attractive rolling green pastures. The area also features numerous rivers, springs and lakes which provide the perfect environment for many outdoor activities.

The Ocala Operations is a multi-shift manufacturing facility that builds circuit cards, wiring harnesses, and electro-mechanical assemblies. The facility currently has over 1250 employees and provides products to six Missiles and Fire Control sites. Ocala specializes in both low volume high mix and high-volume production that has a combination of automated processes as well as labor intensive manufacturing. Ocala Operations has a represented manufacturing workforce that is supported by a strong engineering and operations support team.

As an early career Quality Engineer, you will have the opportunity to monitor and improve the quality of our operational processes and outputs. We are seeking talented engineers to join our team to help develop many best-in-class products and solutions in our Missiles & Fire Control Business Area at our Ocala, FL.

The Quality Engineer position reviews documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes to ensure quality products are delivered to the customer.

Essential Functions of the Quality Engineer include:

• Ability to analyze and resolve process issues varying from basic to moderately complex.
• Attends program corrective action meeting, identifies trends, assists in problem resolution and insures responsible parties meet commitments.
• Participates as an active member of Material Review Boards and Failure Review Boards which includes dispositioning non-conforming hardware, identifying hardware containment , identifying appropriate root cause and corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence.
• Performs assessments and audits on processes and procedures to ensure compliance to specifications, engineering drawings, procedures and ISO-9001/AS9100.
• Interfaces with customers, suppliers and program personnel on quality related issues.
• Utilizes lean initiatives to reduce waste and maintain continuous improvement.
• Makes the final decision on acceptability of product.

This position will be located at a facility that requires special access and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen.

Seeking a recent graduate with availability to start immediately.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferably in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline from an accredited college.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• This facility requires special access and therefore all candidates must be a US Citizen.
Desired Skills:
• Previous Quality Engineering experience in CCA (circuit card assembly), electronics or C&H (cable and harness)
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques
• Understanding of root cause analysis and corrective action
• Green Belt Certification
• J-STD-001/IPC-A-610/IPC-WHMA-620 familiarization
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong presentation skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment

Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
