Lockheed Martin Space is seeking energized individuals who are passionate about building the space technologies of tomorrow. We have an opportunity for a Quality Engineer at our Magna, Utah location. You will be supporting our Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program within Space Operations.

Your role as Quality Engineer will include:

o Being the point of contact for suppliers and quality issues as well as engage with internal suppliers, product centers, and subcontractors/suppliers.
o Ensuring the proper flow-down of quality requirements, interpret contract requirements and tailor the requirements to individual suppliers. You will lead efforts to resolve issues with conflicting requirements.
o Participation on the material review board, performing surveillance of manufacturing processes and verifying that the effective corrective action is implemented to resolve the root cause of discrepancies.
o You will create and maintain Quality Inspection Instructions, identify quality deficiencies and follow up on corrective actions. You will also generate and report quality metrics.

As a successful member of the team that delivers exceptional results, you will need superb communication skills and be able to develop rapport with multiple partners.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in technical discipline (e.g., engineering field) or equivalent discipline (e.g., math, physics, chemistry, etc.).
• Root Cause Analysis experience or training.
• Familiar with manufacturing processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Your dedication to support mission requirements will require working overtime and odd shifts as needed.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.

Desired Skills:
• Experience with solid rocket motor manufacturing processes.
• Experience performing quality management systems audits.
• Non-Destructive Test experience.
• Experience performing First Article Inspections.
• Experience interacting with external customers.
• SAP/ERP experience
• Green Belt training/certification or greater
• ASQ CQE certification
• Statistical Process Control (SPC) and reporting quality metrics experience.
• Possess an understanding of mechanical engineering requirements including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Familiar with AS9100

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
