Job Summary
Responsible for driving technology and completing design activities on time and on budget. Develop, analyze, document and support testing of Electrical Systems, CCA Assemblies, RF systems, subsystems, or components. Must possess the ability to complete a technical project independently; mentor and coach other engineers; and work with production staff to coordinate resolution of technical issues. Experience with Avionics Design and Certification is required. Preferred candidates will have experience with Design Assurance Level A Requirements (DAL-A).
Involved with the design, development, modification, and analysis of various electronics systems. May include Hardware, Power Engineering, Power Electronic Engineering, Electromagnetic Engineering, Integrated Circuit Engineering, Components, or others. Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in existing products or systems and makes modifications as needed. Compile and evaluate design and test data. Analyze, develop, and recommend design approaches.
Job Responsibilities
- Review customer specifications and requirements, and develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable.
- Provide budget, cost, and schedule input for design assignments.
- Drive technical problem resolution and completion of activity on time and budget.
- Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems, or subsystems.
- Ability to define and complete technical projects independently.
- Document component and subsystem specifications and material requirements.
- Analyze designs for troubleshooting/resolving performance issues and for new business opportunities.
- Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services
- Support program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements
- Develop prototypes to retire key development or production risks
- Communicate clearly (written and oral) with manufacturing, supply chain, program management and the customer
- Interact with technical management, other professionals, technicians, and support personnel to coordinate, recommend, and confer regarding technical activities and progress
- Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.
- Attend appropriate engineering, customer, or business meetings.

- Participate significantly in preparation of complex small and large proposals.
- Act as technical point of contact in new business pursuit activities.
- Perform Statistical Analyses for root cause determination and process improvement.
- Mentor and coach other Electrical/Systems engineers.
- Provide technical expertise and assistance to other engineers and support personnel.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 5+ years of experience
- Previous experience with avionics design and certification is required.
- Experience with Design Assurance Level A Requirements (DAL-A) is preferred.
- Mastery of technologies and domain knowledge
- Expected to have knowledge and significant experience in multiple engineering disciplines.
