Description:Lockheed Martin Procerus Technologies is seeking a senior level Software Engineer with experience in Autonomy and/or Artificial Intelligence to join our engineering team. We are a multi-disciplinary group with mechanical, electrical, software and systems expertise. We develop new products and solutions along with supporting our current tactical small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) product line. We are looking for a candidate who desires to be an integral part of contributing to and expanding our portfolio.

The engineer will be a member of a team engaged in the design of tactical sUAS and related accessories, working closely with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers. They will specifically be responsible for developing, integrating, and deploying software and firmware to run on sUAS, accessories, and control devices. They will contribute to quality and reliability by participating in peer reviews, creating documentation, anticipating and addressing potential issues, and supporting our onsite production team. They may also have the opportunity to lead project efforts and represent the organization as technical contact for projects and contracts.

In addition to functioning as an individual contributor, the engineer will be expected to assist in mentoring and training team members and advising them on technical matters.

The candidate should have the ability to develop efficient, functional, and reliable code. They should have experience writing embedded firmware for microcontrollers. They should be able to apply relevant theory to the development process and have the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues. Finally, they should have a can-do attitude, enjoy challenges, and desire to develop an excellent product. Occasional travel may be required.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited program in Engineering or related discipline
- Software Engineering experience
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited program in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
- 5 years professional experience (or 3 years with a Masters degree) or demonstrated ability to perform job duties
- Experience in C and/or C++ programming
- Experience developing with and programming microcontrollers
- Experience integrating or working with autonomy or artificial intelligence software and/or hardware, including perception, motion/mission planning, or controls
- Experience writing code for test and verification (Python, etc.)
- Laboratory experience using oscilloscopes, power supplies, and digital multi-meters
- Experience with configuration management tools
- Experience with development and execution of test plans
- Experience with FPGAs
- Familiarity with electrical schematics
- Familiarity with or experience with sUAS or RC aircraft

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
