Job Description:

JOB TITLE: Senior Software Engineer

LOCATION: Dallas, TX (hybrid role, may work from home)

DUTIES: Design, write program code, test, document, and implement application systems; perform testing and implement system enhancements; ensure quality and maintainability of solution; collaborate with Technical Leads to ensure reusability of framework and solution components; collaborate with Solution Architects to ensure alignment of solution with Enterprise Reference Architecture (ERA) and ensure Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) are implemented in alignment with the ERA; collaborate with Product Team to identify dependencies and risks associated with the solution options and propose appropriate mitigation strategies; mentor junior developers on design and development practices; partner with Quality Lead and other developers to write quality code while ensuring acceptable test coverage; identify and prevent production problems; perform root cause analysis, investigate information, perform impact analysis; formulate and execute plans to develop solutions; mentor junior engineers on responding to production program issues and coach them on resolution; embody Agile best practices and continuous improvement; provide technical expertise in estimation exercises during Iteration Planning sessions; identify strengths and weaknesses of solutions while researching pros/cons of alternative options; estimate efforts and value for solutions; partner with Solution Architects to formulate and execute performance testing strategy and participate in remediation effort to address issues; partner with Solution Architects, Release Management and Enterprise Product Support Teams to strategize, plan the transition to support.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or as a software engineer/developer, DevOps Engineer, or in a related/similar position. Experience therein to include 5 years in software development using Java, Groovy, Spring, Junit, Log4J, and Mockito; 3 years with test driven development, Agile development methodology, and DevOps practices using Gradle or Maven, Jenkins, and Grafana; 2 years with cloud-based hosting and cloud-native application development using Azure or AWS, and container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes; and 1 year using Jira and Rally project management and bug tracking tools. Hybrid role, ability to work from home.
