The HBT Regulatory Team has animmediate opportunity for a Senior Engineering Manager - Regulatory for theFire business within our Global Regulatory Team.

The preferred candidate will behighly motivated with demonstrated initiative and have product design expertisewith deep knowledge of product development methodologies within a regulatedenvironment.

The role can be based in eitherNorthford, CT, St. Charles, IL or Atlanta, GA and will report to the HBTRegulatory Engineering Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Act as a Senior Engineering Manager responsible for team leadership within the Global Regulatory team
  • Lead global team of regulatory compliance professionals, including certified labs, to support new product introductions (NPI) and maintenance of existing HBT products
  • Interpret UL, FM, CSA, EN, CE, VdS, FCC product standard requirements and advise engineering teams on product design strategies to ensure compliance
  • Monitor and prepare for emerging regulations within global markets that impact HBT offerings
  • Develop global strategies in partnership with regulatory service providers to reduce cycle time
  • Participate in Quarterly Business Reviews with regulatory service providers
  • Provide leadership and training to team members. Advise staff on process methodologies, procedures, and project management
  • Ensure Honeywell product development methodologies including Agile, release trains, and waterfall methodologies yield maximum efficiency and benefits
  • Make staffing and salary management decisions, develop team members, set goals, mentor, and coach
  • Manage regulatory budget for certification services and lab maintenance
  • Product design areas include mechanical design, electrical design, and software design/functionality
YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • 5+ years experience directly managing a team
  • 10+ years related industry experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of new product development methodologies within a regulated environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work directly with standards agencies or external regulators
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills (English is required)
  • Experience with remotely managing work through globally diverse cross-functional teams
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office and computer skills
WE VALUE
  • Bachelors Degree (or international equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering,
  • Six Sigma certification in Lean or Black Belt, or other statistical analysis methods
  • Experience working with testing agencies such as UL, FM, BRE, VdS, AFNOR
  • Experience in applying process improvements for new product development
