As the authority in Survivability Engineering, you will support Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) Specialty Engineering team in one or more of the following areas:

• Applying electrical, electronics, and physics theories to execute various tasks related to the Survivability engineering field
• Ensuring that missile designs, from the component level to the level, will meet performance requirements during and after exposure to specified environments; these environments include natural space radiation
• Conducting technical planning, specification requirements derivation, test and analysis, design, planning and execution, documentation, and requirements /validation to support overall system needs and act as a technical consultant for management and customers
• Joining a Survivability Engineering group and will be partnered with other authorities.
• Serving in a key technical lead role independently, as or with others in executing Survivability tasks and results, while maintaining collaboration with other Survivability Engineers within the FBM program.
• Mentoring junior engineers within Survivability Engineering

To be successful, you will typically have at least 14 years of experience with a Bachelors degree, or 12 with a Masters degree.

Basic Qualifications:
• Experience in Man-made Nuclear and Natural Space Radiation environments and in Nuclear Hardness and Survivability (NH&S) engineering discipline/work
• Electrical engineering simulation tools (e.g. SPICE, etc.) and with software tools for performing electrical engineering and mathematical analyses (e.g., MATLAB, etc.)
• Test laboratory environments and associated test disciplines and test equipment (e.g., data systems, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and/or signal generators)
Desired Skills:
• Expertise in Natural Space Radiation environments and Engineering
• Radiation software tools (e.g., NOVICE, Srim/Trim, Novice/Geant4, Creme96, Crememc, Shieldose, Spenvis, Omere, Ap8/Ap8, and Ap9/Ae9)
• Radiation test facilities [e.g., test labs in University of California at Davis, Texas A&M, Indiana University Cyclotron Facility (IUCF), Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL)]
• Electronic, electrical, electromechanical and (EEEE) components
• Piece-part radiation testing and radiation effects on piece-parts performance and reliability
• Electromagnetic environment and theories
• Ability to lead multi-functional teams, build strong relationships with team members and build consensus among peers
• Enthusiastic learner and willingness to be an apprentice to senior experts in the NH&S discipline
• Support anomaly resolution teams
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office and SharePoint
• Organized and able to effectively multi-task to accomplish this fast paced job
• Active or Current DoD Secret Security clearance, and eligibility to obtain a government Top Secret Security Clearance

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $118,100 - $226,400 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
