In order to support Light Helicopter Chief Engineering, Airbus Helicopters is looking for a

In Airbus Helicopters Engineering we’re pioneering the introduction and application of agile methods in Airbus development activities.

Within Chief Engineer for Light Helicopters in Donauwörth a vacancy has arisen and thus the chance for you to take a leading role in the development of one of our future helicopter developments! This position will challenge you in the application of agile ways of working throughout all engineering activities in the Program in an international environment.  

You will be part of the team leading and pioneering our new innovative helicopters and systems.

The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) program is an international program sponsored by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function. We are looking for highly motivated graduates aged 18 to 28 years, who are citizens of the European Union (all E.U. nationals, plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein). At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.

• You support the Project Team and take accountability for individual activities.

• Working in a very cross-functional environment with production, support & service, program and various areas in engineering.

• Taking on interface tasks and coordinate/manage a wide variety of projects.

• Having an overview of the entire process, analyze, improve and manage projects.

• Having a very complete and wide view on the complete development.

• Keeping risks, but also opportunities, under control.

• Developing new methods to streamline or simplify processes in the engineering environment.

• Bachelor / Master degree in engineering, aerospace or comparable education.

• Experience in engineering, especially in aviation (helicopter environment desirable).

• Experience working in and with transnational teams, with different technical backgrounds and know-how.

• Project management knowledge and experience especially in agile environments.

• High self-organization, structuring and communication skills.

• Ability to work in a team, authentic demeanor and persuasiveness.

• Change management skills are desirable.

• Having a hands-on mentality.

• Language skills: English - negotiation, German - desirable.
