Job Description:

The Director of Pilot Recruiting (DPR) is responsible for creating industry-leading pilot pathways and innovative recruitment initiatives and building new industry relationships while maintaining existing affiliations. The DPR will lead the organization in sourcing and maintaining pilot staffing, recruitment and retention. The DPR is responsible for developing and implementing Pilot Pathway/Gateway programs with industry partners, universities, and existing employees.  The DPR reports to the Managing Director, Human Resources and leads the Crew Manpower Planning Team.

  • Continuously maintain a high level of understanding of the challenges facing the industry and hiring trends, specific to pilot sourcing and retention
  • Understand the staffing levels required and basing options for Mountain Air Cargo pilots and how it relates to recruitment initiatives
  • Create and execute innovative recruitment strategies to attract pilots
  • Coordinate, lead, and manage all aspects of pilot recruitment and Pathway/Gateway programs
  • Maintain external online websites/services, company website and social media presence (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
  • Develop and maintain the internal Mountain Air Cargo Pilot Mentor program
  • Lead company meetings regarding strategic and tactical goals related to pilot staffing
  • Represent Mountain Air Cargo at industry functions, events, and seminars related to Pilot Recruitment
  • Remain current on industry events and regulation changes impacting pilots
  • Partner with our finance department to create and implement an annual budget
  • Review incoming pilot applications and screen them for minimum qualifications
  • Conduct applicant screening calls and partner with the Chief Pilot’s office during pilot interviews
  • Additional duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
  • College degree preferred
  • Minimum three to five years’ experience in employee recruitment or three years’ equivalent experience in the aviation industry
  • Knowledge of the Pilot Records Improvement Act of 1996 (PRIA) preferred
  • Knowledge of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations Parts 1-121 preferred
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills and strong presentation skills
  • Innovative and strategic thinker
  • Ability to build and maintain strong internal and external business relationships
  • Must have knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office Products: Work, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Must have knowledge and experience using Adobe
  • Experience presenting to large groups
