Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under management supervision this individual will be responsible for preparation and distribution of consolidated financial statements and other internal and external reports, IFRS technical accounting research and support of various audits, internal controls cycle and accounting team.

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Under management supervision, prepares and distributes consolidated financial statements and other internal and external reports
  • Supports internal and external audit activities
  • Monitors US Group compliance with Parent Company’s regulations and accounting standards
  • Works with outside auditors and other departments to ensure deadlines are met
  • Assists with maintaining relations and communications with Parent Company to ensure alignment on technical accounting issues
  • Supports management in directing the organization’s accounting functions which include establishing and maintaining accounting principles, policies, procedures and internal controls
  • Researches and documents US Group accounting issues to ensure compliance
  • Assists in establishing and maintaining standardization of accounting policies for the US Group in accordance with Parent Company and accounting standards
  • Analyzes system trial balances, entries, transactions, to ensure compliance and recommends corrective actions when needed to assigned areas
  • Assists with various accounting tasks as needed
  • Identifies significant trends and areas for management attention
  • Analyzes indicators of business activity
  • Assists in creation and maintenance of policies, procedures, internal control templates and work instructions
  • Coordinates between Finance and other U.S. business areas communication of financial implications related to process changes, new business requirements and exceptions.
  • Supports operational areas related to special projects, continuous improvements, business development and complex accounting transactions.
  • Documents improvement opportunities in operational and financial areas
  • Participates in continuous improvement initiatives.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
  • CPA preferred

Experience:

  • Generally, 3 years of relevant experience and familiarity with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • 1-3 years of public accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with consolidated financial statements and ability to research technical issues
  • Experience with audit examinations, internal controls documentation, process improvements and lean initiatives is desired

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Technical accounting knowledge and familiarity with general accepted accounting standards
  • Ability to demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain complex finance concepts to non-finance personnel
  • Business vision & competitiveness skills (Managing innovation, the customer service, growth, and creativity).
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Quantum, Cost Point, Oracle)
  • Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Share Point)
