Job Description:

Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Long-Term Intern to join our Procurement department based in Grand Prairie, TX.

In this role, you’ll support the Grand Prairie Procurement team in the Data Management Group (DMG) Ticket Process and SharePoint, strategic and operational procurement areas. He will help in the organization of information between the 3-procurement department such as DMG ticket and propose some process improvement.

The Procurement team&39;s mission is to acquire indirect goods and services for Airbus commercial aircraft and helicopters, playing a major role in generating value and supporting the overall competitiveness of the company. We ensure timely delivery and on-quality of equipment and systems, drawing on their expertise in Industrial, Operations & Quality Management, and positive relationship building skills to problem-solve and proactively mitigate supply chain issues.

Your challenges:

Assist Strategic Buyers in DMG ticket process and data research regarding parts: 30

  • Assist and provide support to each commodity buyer in the Strategic Procurement department.
  • Assist the strategic buyers in organizing the DMG tickets, organizing the DMG tickets per program/platform or per part grouping (i.e. composite, sheet metal, hydroforming, etc.).
  • Perform parts research in SAP or with internal customers such as historical data (price, lead-time, consumption, etc.), price validity, forecast, etc.
  • Give research information to the strategic buyer, which will help in requests to the suppliers.
  • Help strategic buyers with acquiring Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) from suppliers
  • Track contract expirations and renewals in SAP
  • Assist the strategic buyer in sending requests for quotes to vendors.
  • Request and follow up on annual price updates which would be assigned by the DMG
  • Assist in researching prices on different materials associated with DMG requests assigned to the commodity buyers.
  • Assist strategic buyers in Small Business Administration (SBA) Requirements

Assist Operational Buyers in data research regarding material receipts: 30

  • Assist and provide support to each commodity buyer in the Operational Procurement department.
  • Develop and update material receipt tracker to handle open actions within the procurement department.
  • Perform parts research in SAP or with internal customers. Present findings to the business owners.

SharePoint storage: 20

  • Help Strategic Buyers to store contract / Price agreement / DMG information into Procurement SharePoint
  • Help to coordinate Strategic Procurement data in SharePoint
  • Digitize all procurement documentation

Continuous Process Improvement: 10

  • Collect and analyze data to streamline the process.
  • Assist Procurement Department heads in proposing solution to improve the DMG ticket process

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must be currently located in the DFW metro area
  • Current college student (associates, undergraduate, graduate level) majoring in Business or other Purchasing related major
  • Evidence of Completion of data analytics and/or supply chain project
  • Organization skills
  • Team-focused mentality
  • Data Analytics skills
  • Ability to communicate well in verbal and written form in English
  • Good writing skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) or Google equivalents

Preferred:
  • Experience in Purchasing environment

  • Exposure to SAP tools

Physical Requirements:
  • Onsite:100
  • Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings for several hours per day
  • Hearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms throughout each work day
  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications daily
  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment daily.
  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10lbs daily
  • Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10lbs daily
  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture occasionally
  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer daily
  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving occasionally
  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor as needed
  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice is not anticipated
  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces daily
  • Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
