Job Description SummaryWe have a great opportunity for a Sourcing Specialist for our team at GE Aerospace Dayton Cores and Castings (DCC). Our Team is at the cutting edge of ceramics and castings utilizing additive technology to advance the development and manufacturing of airfoils.

This position will manage the buying process for a given set of goods. Apply sourcing policy, interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets. Work with suppliers to ensure capacity, readiness and support future delivery schedules. Engage shop operations team to ensure raw material and indirect supply inventory to support production schedules.

Dayton Cores and Castings (DCC) is a GE Aerospace manufacturing shop that makes HPT Airfoil Cores and Castings. We are a production shop that develops the leading edge of airfoil technology to deliver value through new product introduction and manufacturing industrialization.

Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities:

  • Define and improve Sourcing strategies at plant level
  • Use prior experience and acquired expertise to execute functional policy/strategy
  • Communicate with direct colleagues and shop operations team regarding necessary tools and equipment
  • Control inventory levels and work with indirect providers to meet timelines
  • Leverage technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems
  • Place compliant purchase orders with suppliers including selecting and setting up suppliers
  • Send out RFQ’s, negotiate prices, justify price reasonableness, placement of purchase orders, and obtain supplier purchase order acceptance
  • Manage relationships with suppliers for PO execution
  • Manage problems and schedule changes
  • Propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated, day-to-day problems

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in sourcing or procurement).

Desired Characteristics:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Supplier Management, Manufacturing, Operations, Production Control, or Supply Chain Management
  • Ability to lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact
  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
  • Effective problem identification and solution skills
