Job Description:
The assembly technician will perform fabrication and assembly of detail parts, subassemblies and final assemblies. This includes the building of adhesive bonded assemblies of metallic and non-metallic composite materials. The level of work performed is simple to moderately complex requiring some skill and experience in aerospace manufacturing. Candidate must be willing and capable to review production and process documentation and production scheduling and planning and assist in expediting the flow of material, parts and assemblies. Position requires a person who can work with minimum supervision. 
 
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Use of hand and power tools such as routers, drills, die grinders and other like tools to complete the required operations called out within the work instructions and all blue print requirements. 
  • Use close tolerance measuring tools such as scales, micrometers, calipers, and bore mics. 
  • Use and maintain customer supplied tooling in proper working order.
  • Follow engineering planning and accurately fill out and complete Travelers.  
  • Keep a clean work area and demonstrate good work habits.
  • Participate in projects developing process improvement methods, solutions and procedures to enhance program quality, cost and scheduling. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned and may be required to cross train to additional work centers and skill sets.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
  • High School graduate or equivalent and/or technical school
  • 5+ years of experience in fabrication and assembly of metallic and non-metallic parts used on operational aircraft or equivalent combination of education and experience  
  • Ability to use computers and equipment that utilizes computer software technology for assembly aids and allocating proper time for work orders
  • Demonstrated ability to apply basic math, locating information and reading comprehension skills to the work environment 
  • Must be a U. S. Person or Permanent Resident Green Card Holder
Additional Desire Qualifications:
  • Advanced 2-year vocational, technical and/or military technical schooling certifications in manufacturing or related fields a plus
  • A&P License a plus.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and wear proper PPE
  • Lift and transport objects up to 40 pounds as well as consistently stand, stoop, crawl, bend, crouch, climb, and kneel 
Shift Requirements:  
  • First or Second shift with flexibility to work extended work hours.
