Job Summary
Execute/generate CPSR-compliant purchase orders based on approved requisitions, requests for proposals, bids and other similar and necessary documents related to the purchasing of supplies, equipment, services and materials.
Job Responsibilities
Execute/generate CPSR-compliant purchase orders based on approved requisitions, requests for proposals, bids and other similar and necessary documents related to the purchasing of supplies, equipment, services and materials
Support all indirect procurement (Facilities, Blanket Purchase Orders, Engineering, Testing, Cleaning, Utilities, Consultant Suppliers, and Consumables etc.)
Perform a variety of general tactical duties as required to support purchasing activities, including working with A/P on reconciling invoicing
Under direct supervision, may assist in negotiations and apply limited knowledge of commercial contract law and guidelines, practices and requirements to assess, plan and negotiate best terms and conditions and to minimize risk.
Maintain professional relationships with suppliers. May resolve issues (e.g. pricing, quality, timing, claims, contract disputes, etc.) associated with terms and conditions of service agreements
Works with and provides back-up support for buyers on delivery assurance and accuracy of delivery performance
Understand demand/spend profile for commodity areas, and provide this information as necessary
Serve as the primary contact between DRS personnel and assigned suppliers
Enter and manage all suppliers in ERP systems including Empower and Cost Point
Maintain current accurate records and files of all vendor agreements and related procurement records
Provide monthly Supply Chain metrics reports to team using Power Bi; communicate supplier performance
May assist in sourcing initiatives
Support, communicate and defend the mission, values and culture of the company
Job Requirements:
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience and 0+ years of experience in Purchasing
- Ability to understand and adhere to all laws pertaining to procurement, contracts, breach by contract, etc.
- Basic negotiating skills
- Candidates must be a US citizen and meet DRS security standards as imposed by DoD, including the issuance of any necessary security clearance by the US government within a reasonable time after commencement of employment
U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
