Job Description:

Purpose

The Global Supply Chain Organization Leader will be responsible for driving the development and performance of our supply chain team and partners. They will lead initiatives in strategic sourcing, procurement, purchasing, logistics, warehousing, and to ensure our company remains at the forefront of the aviation maintenance and VIP refurbishment industry.

Essential Job Functions 

 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. 
  • Support the organizational change at the leadership level.   
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive supply chain strategy that aligns with company objectives and the dynamic aviation maintenance and VIP aircraft refurbishment market.                                                                                           
  • Oversee all supply chain processes including procurement, logistics, inventory management, and distribution.                                                                                                                                                                      
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing, purchasing, and delivery of aircraft parts, equipment, and materials.                                                                                                                                                                               
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers and vendors in the aviation industry.                                  
  • Negotiate contracts and terms, ensuring the best quality, cost, and delivery conditions.
  • Implement risk management protocols to mitigate supply chain disruptions.
  • Analyze global trends and potential challenges, devising proactive strategies to address them. Implement best practices and technological solutions to optimize supply chain efficiency and performance.
  • Drive initiatives that contribute to long-term operational excellence and cost savings. This will include cyclical supplier landscape evaluation and developing long-term strategic partnerships with key partners.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as finance, operations, and sales, to ensure alignment and achieve company objectives. Support of strategic make / buy decisions, and management of sub-contracted contracts.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities 

 

  • This position has direct supervisory responsibilities over Warehouse, Procurement/Purchasing 

 

Reporting Relationship 

 

  • Reports to the Senior Vice President of Operations / General Manager

 

 

 

Qualifications 

  • A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or business
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management
  • More than 5 years of experience in team leadership

 

 

Desired Qualifications

 

  • A master’s degree in supply chain management or MBA
  • APICS/ASCM certification or other accredited certifications
  • Aviation experience

  • Outstanding set of soft skills and a proven record of managing people with empathy and patience.
  • Advanced data analysis skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets, develop insights and recommendations, and create actionable reports, a high degree of business acumen and critical thinking.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, execute, and track supplier performance improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Experience in risk management, with the ability to identify, assess, and mitigate supplier risks.
  • Very good negotiation skills; capable of establishing logical arguments and realizing desired outcomes.
  • Skilled in multi-tasking complex projects and managing different teams at the same time as well as managing and documenting priority and scope changes.
  • Manage multiple contracts at the same time of varying values and risk level, including various contract types such as cost reimbursable and fixed price.
  • Will interact with all levels of leadership including Operations, Sales, Engineering, Quality, Marketing and Finance, and contribute as a key member of the executive team.
  • Key supplier contact and key customer contact for supply chain related issues.  

  

Working Conditions 

 

The work is performed in an office environment, aircraft hangar, or on the aircraft-parking ramp.
