As Plant Materials Leader you will be responsible to meet delivery, cash and cost targets.
In this role you will be accountable for Materials Governance and Logistics Transformation (both transactional and physical).
This role requires from you frequent interactions with internal and external Customers, Suppliers and all Avio Aero Departments.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage Plant Supply Chain and be its point of reference for Customers, Suppliers and Senior Leadership

  • Meet Customer Satisfaction in terms of on time delivery and turn around time

  • Manage interfunctional team on critical material problem solving

  • Develop and Govern Material practices with the aim to keep suppliers on time and control inventory, maximizing impact of using ERP System

  • Manage Logistics team and processes, from an Operational and Custom stand point, with the aim to meet regulations, support production needs, control costs

  • Manage inventory, lead transformation and problem solving in order to meet Cash objectives

  • Assure inventory goals are met without customer disappointments

  • Own KPI’s and TTI’s related to Plant Deliveries

  • Own and coordinate preparation of forecast, analysis and problem solving to support Operating Reviews at Senior Leadership level

  • Own Plant Supply Chain Medium and Long term Strategy; manage Budget development process, Plant Sales and Operating Planning, Strategic Plan

  • Identify and implement tools and procedures to increase process efficiency

  • Drive cost reduction wherever applicable while meeting customer and safety requirements

  • Drive team to analyze and develop forecasts on workforce and machines utilization

  • Control costs associated to conversion and activate problem solving to keep them on target

  • Analyze short and long term machine and manpower capacity to meet future volumes

  • Support and lead Transformation and Continuous improvement projects

  • Provide reports that enable problem solving and activate action plans

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Masters Degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in Engineering fields

  • Strong and consistent experience in a manufacturing, operations, or materials management position, preferably in the Aviation industry

  • Strong and consistent experience in managing a team

  • Understanding of production, logistics and inventory control techniques

  • Knowledge of Avio Aero products and processes is preferred

  • Strong team player with high energy

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Fluent in Italian and English language

  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in managing high mix/low volume environment

  • Exposure experience with Senior Leadership 

  • Resilience

  • A previous experience on fulfillment, production and inventory control activities

  • Knowledge on material planning, master scheduling, and shop floor control

  • Exposure to financial measurements and accounting principles in a manufacturing

  • Knowledge of contractual terms and conditions and their effects on inventory management principles

  • Knowledgeable of SAP

  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing

  • Six Sigma training is preferred

  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
