Job Description:

As a Procurement Specialist you will review the master schedule, forecast, and specifications and then issue Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders. In this role you will, follow up and expedite the timely delivery of products and minimize shortages, while managing inventories and inventory parameters. You will also negotiate the day-to-day issues related to contract implementation with vendors and verify that prices of purchases are fair (compliance with contract, competitive quoting when possible etc.).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for maintaining and analyzing all materials to ensure adequate levels of inventory are available to support aircraft production.
  • Develop a procurement strategy to purchase parts, materials, and services while considering cost, quality and schedule requirements.
  • Initiate requisitions based on inventory or aircraft specific needs. Execute purchase orders to fulfill IMS obligations.
  • Manage materials through production from initial receipt of requirement through warranty support and aircraft delivery process.
  • Monitor suppliers’ scheduled ship dates, expedite when needed, and maintain accurate delivery information on shortage reports of all parts and related files.
  • Monitor purchasing costs for accuracy and fairness for compliance to contract, comparison with last price paid, competitive bidding when possible, comparison with publicly available prices when available etc.
  • Manage supplier issues (i.e., cost, quality, delivery, customer service, and invoice discrepancies) to meet established objectives.
  • Establish and maintain sound professional relationships with suppliers.
  • Responsible for preparing, maintaining, and distributing reports.
  • Provide assistance or over-flow support for others in the department.
  • Responsible for the returns of purchased parts which have been rejected for credit.
    Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related field or can substitute education with 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Three (3) years of experience in Procurement. No experience required for Associate level.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MRP systems or an understanding of for the Associate position.
  • APICS Module 1 training. Not required at the Associate level.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suites and utilizing computerized supply chain manufacturing software or the ability to learn.
  • Ability to communicate in a highly technical environment.
  • Strong negotiating skills or ability to develop these skills for the Associate level..
