Job Description:
STS Technical Services is hiring an APU Ambassador in Atlanta, Georgia. Qualifications:
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Complete a pre-employment Department of Transportation (DOT) drug test, and comprehensive background check, including a government-required fingerprint-based criminal history record check.
  • Professional work experience in aviation mechanics, below-wing, or flight operations is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic, reliable, self-motivated with a positive attitude, and customer service-oriented.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Required to work nights, and weekends as necessary.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication skills for a diverse stakeholder population; and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proficiency using MS Office products preferred.
  • Physical exertion such as: pulling, pushing, reaching, bending, standing, walking, and ramp equipment as necessary.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and if the position requires the use of company vehicle(s), must be insurable under company insurance coverage.
  • Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by the date of hire to be considered for a U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.
  • Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operations processes and procedures.
  • Must wear required company-approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include, but not limited to: hearing protection, safety-toe footwear, protective headwear (bump cap or hard hat), and high visibility safety apparel subject to an approved accommodation, such as alternate PPE.
Responsibilities:
  • Drive fuel savings by reducing APU usage, promoting sustainability, inspecting ground equipment, and communicating with ACS frontline personnel.
  • Activities and responsibilities are not designed to interfere with operations, but are meant to promote awareness and collect data vital to the overall success of the Carbon Council’s Fuel Savings initiatives.
  • Responsible for observing APU usage, aircraft arrival/departure process, RON, RAD & PAD operation.
  • Exercise alertness and practice safety-conscious behaviors when operating controls in the cockpit to shut APUs off.
  • Promote sustainability through giveaways and recognition of employees following the correct procedure.
  • Compile APU Shutoff data into weekly reports for submission to ACS leadership.
  • Demonstrate behavior per Delta Airlines Code of Conduct in all company policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate a high level of focus on customer service.
  • Work is performed at the airport, and required to work nights, and weekends as necessary. Some travel may be required.
  • Requires contact with corporate and station leadership.
  • Applicable ramp attire/uniform is required (Attire to identify the APU Ambassador).
  • Adhere to all Delta Policies.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
  • Outdoor work in varying climate conditions is required.
