Boeing Canada Winnipeg is seeking Assembly Technician(s) working out of the Winnipeg, Manitoba site. These positions are for evening and midnight shifts.

Position Responsibilities:

Drill, countersink, assemble and install to quality requirements plastic and/or metal parts and assemblies. Locate points, parts, holes, assemblies, etc., from previously established, definitely marked, or generally known station lines or index points, deriving measurements and related information from prints, changes, position boards, assembly pages, specification books, work orders, templates, jogs, fixtures, or tooling.  Normally is assigned work which has been previously sequenced.

  • Perform in process rework/rework, pickups, functional check and the making of authorized changes, etc., within the same level of skill required of the duties described herein.

  • Select correct parts, materials, tools, assemblies, etc.,

  • Report job abnormalities such as errors in parts, materials, assembly procedures, tools, sequences, etc., in accordance with shop procedure as per work instructions.

  • Use precision measuring instruments necessary to accomplish work assignments.

  • Perform reaming, drilling, countersinking riveting, sawing, sanding, tool set ups (eg. Micro stops), continuity testing, filing, bucking, and grinding necessary to accomplish work assignments.

  • Mix cements, glues, foams, etc., necessary to complete work assignment.

  • Work from production and process sheets, blueprints, specifications, written and verbal information.

  • Apply protective material to assemblies.

  • Perform foaming, bonding, sealing, cementing and riveting to assemble, install and seal detail components. and/or wrapping to parts and assemblies.

This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • High School Diploma or recognized equivalency

  • Must be able to successfully complete the Test of Workplace Essential Skills (TOWES). If you have already successfully completed TOWES, attach your official results

  • Must be able to work evening shift (starting at 15:00) and/or midnight shift (starting at 23:00)

  • Must be legally able to work in Canada

  • Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods

  • Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data

  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment medical, pass up to 4 weeks of training, and a full background check, including criminal record in order to obtain employment

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

  • Completion of Aerospace Manufacturing Technician (AMT), or Aerospace Manufacturing and Maintenance Orientation Program (AMMOP), or Aerospace Maintenance Engineer (AME) and/or aerospace manufacturing experience

  • Formal related training and post-secondary education obtained through an accredited educational institution

Training:

Employment will be extended to candidates who successfully complete the training program and meet the requirements stated above. Only those who successfully complete the training program and meet the requirements will receive compensation for their training period.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Additional Information:

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada.  Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.

Starting Wage: $29.36 per hour + shift premium for evening and midnight shift
