Job Summary

A CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in the manufacturing environment by ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of CNC machines. This position involves maintaining and repairing CNC machinery to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency.

Job Responsibilities
  • Exemplifying a safety-first mindset, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations ensuring compliance to the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards.
  • CNC Machine Maintenance: Perform regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on CNC machines, including lathes, mills, routers, and grinders, to keep them in optimal working condition.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with CNC machines, both mechanical and electrical, to minimize production disruptions.
  • Repairs: Repair or replace faulty machine components, including motors, spindles, tool changers, and controls, to restore functionality.
  • Calibration: Calibrate machine tools, encoders, and sensors to maintain precision and accuracy in the machining process.
  • Lubrication: Ensure proper lubrication of machine components to prevent wear and extend the lifespan of CNC equipment.
  • Software Updates: Update and maintain CNC control software to adapt to changing production requirements and improve machine performance.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and updates, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain an organized inventory of CNC parts and components, ordering and restocking parts as needed.
  • Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergency repair situations to minimize downtime and ensure equipment and facility safety.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in CNC equipment and components `maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong safety OSHA knowledge to safely perform preventive and corrective maintenance functions. 
  • Proven structured Problem-Solving experience.
  • Fluent in English language, both written and spoken
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with vocational or technical training in CNC equipment
  • Strong safety OSHA knowledge to safely perform preventive and corrective maintenance functions. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional qualification or certification in an Engineering discipline. 
  • Experience working with a Lean Operating Model / Production System
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification by a reputable certifying body or benchmark company
  • Manufacturing and facilities equipment experience in the Aerospace industry
  • A passion for the Aerospace industry
Compensation Data


The hourly compensation range for this position is:

$28.41 - $42.62
