Job Description:
  • Ensure that all technical publications are at a current revision status.  Prepare and submit revisions for approval.
  • Ensure that all maintenance performed on customer’s aircraft is done in accordance with approved Fly Advanced manuals and the Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Responsible for quality control of customer’s aircraft components and monitoring the continuing analysis and surveillance program.
  • Responsible for instituting improved inspection procedures and methods which would tend to enhance the quality and economic efficiency of maintenance.
  • Responsible for editing the accuracy of all aircraft log books and the accompanying maintenance schedule forms.
  • Collect flight hours and cycles on all customer’s aircraft for daily computer entries.  Responsible for updating the Aircraft Inspection Status Report.
  • Audit and maintain all engine and airframe logbooks.  
  • Verify and audit all associated computer tracking of power plants components, inspections and overhauls.
  • Responsible for weight and balance functions including distribution and maintenance of weight and balance manuals.  
  • Make periodic checks on all Inspection tools and the calibration of precision test equipment.  Coordinate to ensure that all tools are in calibration.
  • Supervise the activities for all the contract maintenance agencies.  Make required recommendations and reports including but not limited to utilization, airworthiness compliance, chronic discrepancies, mechanical interruptions, and reliability reports.
  • Responsible for attaining all necessary forms from the maintenance contractors for all such work done.
  • Completes the require SDR and MIS reports and forwards them to the FAA.
  • No person may serve as Chief Inspector unless that person meets the requirements of Fly Advanced.   In addition, that person shall know the maintenance portions of the QCM, RSM Manual, FAA approved Operations Specifications and the applicable maintenance provisions of  CFR 145.
  • The Chief Inspector is required to ensure that the Maintenance personnel are adequately trained and receive ongoing training with regard to the specified job functions.
  • Will work in the scheduling of classes, schools and also develop the training curriculum.  
  • Is also responsible to see that personnel are designated to the assist with OJT and properly utilize standard record keeping requirements.
  • Administer training in problem areas that were identified by the continuous analysis.
  • Training duties and responsibilities may be delegated to qualified maintenance training assistants as required.
  • While the Chief Inspector may delegate his duties to a qualified person he may not delegate his responsibility.
  • Plans, directs and coordinates activities within the Inspection Department and plans activities in conjunction with other departments
  • Manages the accuracy and retention of all Maintenance and Inspection records.
Job Requirements:
  • The Chief Inspector must feel comfortable with PC’s (MS Word, Excel, & EBIS,) and interacting with customers and vendors via phone, email, text, online forums and in person.
  • Must have 7 years plus experience in aircraft maintenance. Management experience preferred.
  • Air Frame and Power Plant License
  • Inspection Authorization (IA)
  • Valid Driver’s license
