Through DoD SkillBridge and Hiring Our Heroes, Sierra Nevada Corporation provides internships to service members transitioning to the civilian workforce. These internships include up to six months of on-the-job training for eligible service members. During this time, participants gain valuable work experience in the civilian sector and build professional networks as they prepare for their transition to full-time civilian work.
As a Field Service Technician, you will be using your skills and expertise to perform a variety of maintenance and technical support on our products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations. Youll be responsible for installing, operating, maintaining, repairing, and modifying our products and updating and tracking the status of all field related equipment. Must-haves:
- Currently serving as active duty military and be eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program.
- Associates degree and typically 2 or more years of relevant experience
- A higher-level degree may substitute for experience
- Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
- Basic understanding of technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications
- Experience using troubleshooting techniques
- Understanding of electrical wiring concepts
- Ability to frequently travel outside the continental US, typically for extended periods of time

Preferred:
- Experience with FCC or FCC GROL
- Prior experience with Security&43;, Network&43;, CCNA and/or A&43;
- Basic understanding of Spectrometer, Oscilloscope and/or Pilot Static Equipment gauges
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military
