This position will be part of the Lockheed Martin Greenville Support Operations (GSO) Aircraft Maintenance Team, supporting Depot Level Maintenance of the F-16 at Greenville, South Carolina. Responsible for incoming and outgoing flight operations, follow on depot level maintenance and routine trouble shooting. Mechanic will perform/assist with all launch, recovery, preflight/thru flight/Basic Post Flight inspections, ground handling, maintenance, engine runs, operational checkouts, and servicing. Perform routine troubleshooting, installation, repair and maintenance of all electro-mechanical and pneudraulic systems and components on the aircraft. Responsible for the acceptableness of all electrical, hydraulic-pneumatic, propulsion, landing gear, flight control surfaces and periodic inspections, general airframe condition, aircraft furnishings and crew escape system of the aircraft. Will be required to remove panels and associated hardware to obtain access equipment requiring repair.

The candidate will be required to:

• Comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Use hands to grasp, handle and /or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
• Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat crawl, twist, and work on or in the aircraft.
• Frequently lift and/or push or pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or push or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Occasionally sit, climb, and balance.
• Preform repetitive movements and work overhead.
• Work on a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean, FOD-free work area.
• Properly use, handle and dispose of hazardous materials, and toxic or caustic chemicals per Government regulations and company procedures.
• Read and speak English.

Mission essential functions and other duties may be assigned as required.


Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed to perform job tasks. The employee is regularly exposed to loud noises and vibration.

The candidate will be frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high, precarious places, outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.


*Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

*Security Clearance REQUIRED. Security clearance is not required prior to starting position. Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
Candidate must have 3-8 years of related aircraft production, overhaul, or modification experience on various aircraft systems such as landing gear, flight controls, disassembly, re-assembly, rigging or aircraft ground operations.

Experience with aircraft repair, modification, or trouble shooting.

Experience with aircraft ground handling and test equipment.

Verifiable flight line experience is required.
Desired Skills:
Military aircraft experience (F-16 preferred)

Aircraft Mechanic / Aircraft craftsman A&P Lic.

A strong understanding of the maintenance process and proper documentation.

Ability to read, comprehend and navigate tech data and engineering instructions.

Hydrazine response team experience.

Ability to obtain a security clearance.

Previous engine run experience.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
