Job Summary

The Maintenance Shift Leader is responsible for all facilities and equipment maintenance. Including installation or supervision of the installation of new equipment, resource allocation and contractor management during their shift.


The role performs, assigns work and leads the preventive and corrective maintenance of al equipment and facilities to achieve the department targets, including standardization, training, coaching and implementing best practices.
 

This is a weekend shift position (3 day work week - 12 hour shift Friday, Saturday and Sunday with a preventative maintenance focus)

Job Responsibilities

 

•    Creates a culture that is aligned to the GKN Aerospace “Great Place To Work” and “Safety First” value drivers and Culture Principles by role-modelling behaviors, motivating, encouraging and recognizing the contribution of Team Members.
•    Courageously be Open and Honest when appraising and managing individuals’ performance whilst supporting and coaching individuals to close performance gaps. Addresses performance gaps by supporting technical training and development plans.
•    Schedule, manage and perform preventative and corrective maintenance for all machining, assembly and other equipment located in the facility
•    Provide maintenance support for the entire facility including management of utilities, Boilers, Compressors, Chillers, Water Towers, .HVAC, fire suppressant systems, etc.
•    Diagnose, troubleshoot, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic machinery and equipment
•    Assures that the specific preventive maintenance is perform on equipment and facilities per schedule.
•    Conduct forensic and Root Cause Failure Analysis of asset failures
•    Identifies and places requisitions to procure parts and/or services (contractor sourcing and management) for the facilities and equipment when needed.
•    Assures that parts inventory is maintained as well as repair/calibration records for all equipment.
•    Leads daily tier 1 meeting with the facilities and equipment team and participates on Tier 2 meetings with the Value Stream Manager providing status on preventive maintenance, work orders and corrective maintenance.
•    Supports the facility safety and environmental compliance and assures the facility remains current with OSHA, EPA, hazardous waste handling and other regulations

Required Qualifications:


•    5+ years of experience in Facilities/Maintenance or similar experience
•    2+ years of Leadership/Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
•    2+ years of hands-on experience in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
•    2+ years of experience troubleshooting CNC machinery and PLC controls
•    Must be a US Person (US Citizen or Green Card holder)
•    Fluent in English language, both written and spoken

 

Preferred Qualifications:


•    Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
•    Experience of Continuous improvement and LEAN methodologies
•    Any applicable licenses a plus.
•    Knowledge of Preventive Maintenance Software a plus
 

Compensation Data

The salary range for this position is $90k-115k, plus shift differential and annual bonus.
