Introduction:

The Operations Support Specialist (Maintenance Controller) is a core member of the base (phase) maintenance control team, providing direct control and supervision of all aircraft work packages and documentation used during scheduled maintenance, unscheduled maintenance, repairs and the embodiment of modifications.

The role:

  • Develops, compiles, submits for approval and issues work packages/task cards.

  • Ensures that all technical data in use is approved and at the correct amendment/revision state.

  • Works with both electronic and hard copy records, including information entry, information assurance, auditing, updating and archiving.

Position responsibilities:

  • Execution of the Maintenance Control function.

  • Direction, guidance and support to maintenance execution teams.

  • Providing direct control and supervision of all maintenance records

  • Updating and managing electronic maintenance recording systems (e.g. GOLDesp, GOLD MRO).

  • Compiling task cards and Digital Work Orders.

  • Compiling, printing and issuing work packs.

  • Auditing, updating and delivery of the electronic and hard copy records for assigned aircraft as stipulated in the Statement of Work or work pack.

  • Auditing all maintenance paperwork and ensuring errors are logged and corrected

  • Archiving maintenance work packs in both paper and electronic formats.

  • Ensuring the latest Approved Data and Technical Information are being used by the maintenance teams.

Required Qualifications:

  • A good communicator, with a demonstrable ability to communicate technical work requirements.

  • Capable and experienced in sequencing and controlling demanding workloads, on time, to budget and to the required standard.

  • Capable of understanding and interpreting Technical Information (TI)

  • Able to demonstrate understanding/knowledge of leadership skills/ styles and the ability to apply them in an effective manner.

  • Minimum of a Level 3 qualification in an appropriate engineering or technical discipline.

  • Ideally educated to degree level, or able to demonstrate equivalent career experience, in a relevant technical discipline.

  • Ideally registered with a Professional Engineering Institution at Engineering Technician (Eng Tech) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) level.

  • Experience of maintaining UK military helicopters (ideally the UK Apache AH Mk1 or AH-64E).

  • Experience of maintenance planning/control and technical records management in a CAMO or Part 145 organisation (AMO or MMO).

  • Experience of electronic maintenance recording systems (ideally GOLDesp and/or GOLD MRO).

  • Experience of UK MOD Form 700 (F700) paperwork.

  • Demonstrable experience with Microsoft Office with the ability to compile and present reports of a technical nature.

Security Clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain a UK security clearance (SC) for which UK residency is required. All information will be checked and verified.

Relocation: This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
