OVERVIEW:

Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC) is the market leader in manufacturing large, complex structural investment castings, airfoil castings, forged components, and critical fasteners for aerospace applications. The Company is also the leading producer of airfoil castings for the industrial gas turbine market. Wyman Gordon a wholly owned subsidiary of PCC manufactures seamless pipe and other forged products for power generation and energy applications; airframe aerostructures; and metal alloys for the casting and forging.

PURPOSE

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for the development and maintenance of preventative maintenance (PM) and work order programs including daily input of all work and information pertinent to the programs in the maintenance planning database. The Maintenance Planner reviews all daily maintenance logs and outgoing work with maintenance staff and assists maintenance personnel with projects and work orders as needed.

ACTIONS

  • Coordinate Maintenance activities for areas of responsibility.
  • Reports on and evaluates unplanned downtime and provides root cause analysis.
  • Tracks Maintenance expenditures in Maintenance Material and Manpower in their area to the extent of their area budget
  • Responsible for the scheduling of Maintenance and planned downtime in their area
  • Responsible for input to the yearly or cycle maintenance plan for the company in their area
  • Responsible for the review and implementation of planned preventive maintenance.
  • Responsible for the regular review of Work procedures and Documents
  • Responsible for the planning of Packaged Maintenance Work and schedules in their area to include.
    • Material lists
    • Requesting material for packaged/planned jobs.
    • Procedures
    • Tests
    • Inspections
    • Documentation of results
  • Responsible to act as a Safety Supervisors for maintenance to include these periodic checks:
    • LOTO Reviews and spot checks
    • PPE Inspections
    • Safe Work Zone inspections
    • Hot Work Inspections
  • Responsible for Quality Maintenance Inspections to include:
    • Repairable Spare test witness
    • Critical point job inspections (torque Specs, Flatness Checks, dimensional inspections)
    • Verification of final inspection results (Hydrostatic tests, press alignments etc.)
    • Future Non-Destructive testing (MT, PT, VT)
  • Responsible for the Confined Space entry permits as required.
  • Responsible for the Verification of Safety Lock Out Tag Outs for Maintenance
  • Responsible for the ordering, tracking and expediting of Maintenance Material
  • Responsible to conducted quality checks on work performance of maintenance labor and contractors.
  • Expected to Assist in the regular review of supply material and document revision support in an effort to ensure quality supply chain.
  • Expected to be available and able to perform duties for other areas to cover vacancies as needed.
  • Expected to be available on an on call, rotating basis for weekend availability in their area.

REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Position needs minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in a heavy industry manufacturing department or similar military experience.
