Position Summary:

Level one Maintenance Technicians, working under minimal supervision, will perform basic duties such as draining fluids, changing belts, and performing miscellaneous general maintenance tasks on all equipment while demonstrating the ability to properly use basic mechanical hand tools, i.e. wrenches etc. Typically, 1-2 years of experience and evidence of strong mechanical aptitude.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Obtain job assignments from supervisor or manager.
• Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
• Correctly interpret work orders.
• Work in a team environment, i.e. follow instructions and assist others as needed.
• Perform basic PM tasks.
• Perform basic equipment maintenance tasks.
• Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Perform daily housekeeping / 6S activities as required.
• Perform other duties as requested by lead, supervisor or manager.

Required Skills:
• Basic ability to perform basic shop math, fractions, decimal.
• Basic ability to use basic hand tools, wrenches, etc.
• Basic ability to use basic inspection tools such micrometers, calipers, comparators
• Basic ability to navigate intranet to locate process documents - basic computer skills
• Basic ability to read and interpret work instructions and basic prints and dimensions
• Ability to operate forklift, man lift, overhead crane, boom lift
• Ability to work on elevated surfaces and heights
• Ability to work in confined spaces
• Ability to properly inspect equipment and tools prior to use
• Ability to wear respirator

Experience & Education:
• 1 to 2 year of manufacturing experience; prior military experience; or technical certification / degree required
• GED or High School diploma required

Working Conditions:
• Constant exposure to indoor / outdoor manufacturing environment
• Constant exposure to moderate noise
• Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes, odors, hot / cold temperatures, inside / outside noise vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces.
• Must be able to work any shift including overtime, weekends and holidays if scheduled.

Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to thirty-five (35) pounds on a repetitive basis.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist and work at heights on an intermittent basis for up to twelve (12) hours.
• Requires hand manipulation including simple grasping, pushing and pulling of materials.
• Must be able to safety operate an overhead crane, boom lift and manlift.
• Must be able to reach and work above and below the shoulder level.
• Must be able to work with and around forklifts and hazardous machinery.
• Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.
• Visual acuity skill to detect any flaws in the parts being inspected.

Additional Requirements:
• This position will train on first shift and may move to an off shift.
• Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as scheduled.
• Must be able to successfully pass the Maintenance Assessment.
