Job Description:
A successful candidate will be the mockup design representative and participate as a team member within an Integrated Project Team. The individual will be responsible for the design details of customer mockups that include CAD creation in NX, supporting workflows in Teamcenter, publishing parts lists, peer review of designs ensuring customer requirements are met, and support purchasing, manufacturing, and operations to build full-scale functional mockups.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Model detail components, subassemblies, top-level assemblies in NX
• Interpret customer mockup requirements to simplify production engineering for ease of manufacture while maintaining product intent (industrial design, functionality, key features, etc.)
• Create parts lists noting materials, fabrication method, and finish
• Conducting peer reviews of models and drawings
• Collaborate with the integrated product team as mockup design focal. Other disciplines within the team include electrical engineers, purchasing, operations and program management.
• Coordinate with purchasing to provide alternate solutions to reduce cost and/or lead time

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Associate degree in STEM, design or similar from accredited college or university and 2 years related experience and/or training in CAD; or equivalent combination of education and experience in CAD, product design, or manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of structures, mechanisms, assemblies, plumbing, electrical systems
• Strong ability and proven track record of multitasking and working within deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with remote and ESL team members.
• Must be able to investigate design solutions and work independently.
• Must have relevant 3D CAD modeling and drafting experience. NX preferred; Catia, Solidworks or other CAD programs also acceptable.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
• Perform other related duties as required.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
• NX (formally Unigraphics)
• Siemens Teamcenter
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering
• Experience with Boeing or Airbus programs
• Experience building mockups for customer demonstration, tradeshows, etc.
• Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping, machining, sheet metal design, assembly
